Extreme Networks Appoints Gavin Cato as Vice President of Engineering

SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Extreme Networks, Inc., (Nasdaq: EXTR) today announced that it has appointed communications industry veteran Gavin Cato as Vice President of Engineering. In this position, Cato will be responsible for building and strengthening Extreme Networks' global research and development engineering organization, and will be in charge of all aspects of design, development and delivery for all company products.

Cato brings over 20 years of experience in operating and architecting networks and in defining and building network and IP products for various communications companies. His experience spans leadership roles in product research, development and engineering; product management and business development; and in key management roles for both large companies, such as IBM, Nortel Networks, and Tekelec, in addition to several start-up firms.
