SANTA CLARA, Calif., July 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Extreme Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: EXTR) today announced the appointment of Allison Amadia as vice president and general counsel where she will oversee the company's global legal practice and serve as secretary of the company.
Amadia brings more than 20 years of corporate legal experience and has demonstrated strong leadership skills, with expertise in intellectual property law, technology licensing and counseling technology companies on matters pertaining to the procurement, manufacture, sale and licensing of technology products as well as general corporate governance and board matters.

Prior to Extreme Networks, Amadia has represented numerous public and private technology companies as an independent legal consultant including Portal Software, Good Technology, Inc., Bytemobile, Inc., DVDPlay, Inc., ParAccel, Inc., MoSys, Inc. and EASi, Inc. In addition, Amadia has held executive and director legal positions while with Voxeo Corporation, Crystal Decisions (formerly Seagate software), VeriFone Inc. (a wholly owned subsidiary of HP), and Novell Inc. Prior to that,
Amadia represented Silicon Valley companies as business counsel with Morrison & Foerster.
Amadia, a resident of the San Francisco Bay Area, received her JD from the University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated Cum Laude in 1992. She also completed elective courses in Corporate Finance and Management at the Wharton School of Business. Amadia received her BA in Political Science from the University of California at Davis.
