Extreme switches and access points enable organizations worldwide to achieve high-performance connectivity while lowering their environmental impact
MORRISVILLE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Extreme Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: EXTR), a leader in AI-powered automation for networking, today announced it is the first and only networking vendor to date to achieve EPEAT registry status for its switches and access points. The EPEAT designation enables global customers in highly regulated industries like government and manufacturing to comply with sustainability mandates and advance carbon reduction goals.
EPEAT, managed by the Global Electronics Council, is a premier global ecolabel for IT solutions. It spotlights vendors meeting strict standards across the entire product lifecycle, targeting climate impact, resource use, chemicals, and responsible supply chains. With EPEAT-registered Extreme networking products, customers can more easily meet ESG goals and procurement needs, stay ahead of global regulations, and simplify compliance with independently verified sustainability data.
Bob Mitchell, Chief Executive Officer, Global Electronics Council, said, “Extreme Networks' registration of the first networking equipment products in the EPEAT Registry marks an important step in expanding responsible choices for enterprise IT. Because these technologies underpin modern digital infrastructure, improving their environmental and social impacts is essential. We appreciate Extreme Networks' leadership as the first company to register products in this category and look forward to continued collaboration to help accelerate sustainable innovation across enterprise networking.”
Extreme’s 5420 Series of high-performance universal switches and AP4020 Wi-Fi 7 access points are the first products in Extreme’s portfolio to achieve EPEAT status. Both solutions are also manageable by Extreme Platform ONE™, the industry’s first all-in-one networking platform powered by AI, empowering IT teams to reduce hours of work to minutes. Extreme will continue expanding its number of EPEAT-registered products across its hardware portfolio, including new hardware released in calendar 2026.
“Customers shouldn’t have to trade performance for responsibility. With the first and only enterprise networking solutions that are EPEAT-registered, Extreme is setting a new standard for the industry, making progress toward our goals for corporate responsibility while helping our customers move toward more sustainable IT operations. We’re proud to be the first networking vendor recognized on the EPEAT registry,” said Katy Motiey, Chief Legal, Administrative & Sustainability Officer, Extreme Networks.
